Full Garden Design

Our design process is structured in distinct phases and centers on collaboration. We begin by taking the time to understand your lifestyle, needs, and objectives. This foundational knowledge is then translated into a tailored design. Throughout each phase, we maintain open communication, providing regular updates and holding meetings to ensure the project is aligned with your vision.

Once the design is finalised, we partner with trusted and skilled landscapers to bring the garden to life. To make the process as seamless as possible, we oversee and project manage the build process, ensuring that construction is executed as planned, keeping you informed every step of the way.

Design Process

Stage 1: Consultation

The design process begins with an on-site visit and an initial consultation. This is an opportunity to gain a clear understanding of your vision and requirements for the garden, as well as to assess the current layout and features of the space. After the consultation, you will receive a written brief outlining the fee structure, the design process, and a detailed summary of your goals for the garden.
Stage 2: Concept Design

The next phase involves conducting a topographical survey of the site to map out its layout, levels, and utilities. Based on this survey, both 2D and 3D concept designs are created. In addition, moodboards are developed to help visualise the design direction. At this stage, the emphasis is primarily on the overall layout, rather than on detailed specifications.
Stage 3: Masterplan

Following approval of the concept design, a comprehensive masterplan document is produced. The masterplan includes; material selections, spatial configurations and all detailed technical drawings (site layout, lighting plans, level elevations, cross-sections, and any additional specifications required for approval by the structural engineer).
Step 4: Planting Plan

The planting plan outlines the positions of all proposed plants, accompanied by a detailed plant schedule that includes the exact plant names, sizes, and quantities required for the space. A moodboard showcasing all selected plants is also provided to give you a sense of the intended aesthetic.
Stage 5: Tender Documents

Once the tender package is prepared, it is sent out to contractors for bidding. We collaborate with a network of trusted contractors who are capable of bringing the designs to life, or you can choose your own preferred contractor.
Step 6: Site Inspections

During the construction phase, we offer regular site visits to track progress, address any changes, and ensure the project aligns with the plans. The frequency of these visits can be tailored to your preference—ranging from a single visit at the start and end of the project, to weekly meetings with detailed minutes. Once the build is finished, Bridgeman Kent will lead on the placement and installation of all plants.
